MISSIONS ABROAD

We support many mission efforts beyond the number of foreign preachers and missionaries are supported financially by the church at East Ridge.  We also produce or support several types of evangelistic media and correspondence efforts.

Foreign Missions

Many members of the church at East Ridge thrive on opportunities to travel abroad with the message of Christ.  Overseas trips to Nicaragua, Russia, and Panama occur regularly.  Clothes, toys, and other gifts are prepared in advance by members at East Ridge to send on such campaigns.

Foreign Missions- Africa:   John Blay Eshun is the minister for the New Takoradi church of Christ and the Kansa-Worado church of Christ in Takoradi, Ghana, West Africa. John is also the founder and head of the Mary Parham International School for ages 4-12 years where the M. Howard Memorial Library was added and  our members visited and built shelves and furniture and filled those new shelves with hundreds of new books bought, gathered and shipped to the students. John also heads a team of Gospel teachers who go into the villages teaching, baptizing and establishing new congregations.  He does follow-up work in this area for our World Bible School students.

World Bible School

WBS students need you . . .These are real people throughout our world that contact us or are referred by others wanting to study the Bible through correspondence; be it by mail or on the Internet.  But we cannot do the work without the personal involvement of WBS teachers to fill these needs.  On the Internet go to www.wbschool.net and this site will direct you through the information needed to teach from your own computer at home.  Or, contact the church office (423) 894-7221 if you're interested in working with prospects by mail.  The Bible courses teach simple fundamentals of the Bible:  God's message of hope, love, joy & life which is taught throughout the Bible.

About 40 World Bible School teachers from the church at East Ridge are dedicated in sending, grading and returning lessons by both mail and e-mail around the world.  Through this massive outreach program, we are able to evangelize many foreign countries, including West/South Africa, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, India, Sierra Leone, The United Arab Immigrates and the Philippines.  Graded lessons are returned, and incorrect answers are carefully explained with scripture references.  Certificates and personal notes of commendation are sent to students abroad as they enjoy hearing from their teachers.
